Haifeng came to the Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA) at Harvard in 2013 as a visiting scholar. Prior to joining the CGA he was an associate professor of ecology at Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Haifeng earned his Ph.D. in Ecology from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on the adaptation of ecosystem to climate change at different spatial scales. By combining data sets from field collected and satellites, he probes how to develop effective adaptation options at multiscales for ecosystems and how to investigate a series of quantitative models among these scales to assess benefits of the adaptation strategies.
