Intermediate Geographic Analysis (ISMT S-156)

Summer 2017
Instructor(s)  Josh Lieberman

GIS is not just for mapping. As an information system and science, it also provides tools and perspective for learning what spatial data can tell us about the world and its geography. It leverages the special characteristics of spatial data and processes to derive more insight from data than a non-spatial approach can do. This course builds on introductory concepts and skills of spatial data management and cartography to cover a range of exploratory, statistical, and predictive spatial analysis techniques, using publicly available and student-prepared datasets.
