Assist with the creation of geospatial data from paper maps. Georeference paper maps to assign latitude and longitude coordinates to the image. Create shape files and add labels based on the information from the paper map. While the position requires some knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the technology and to gain experience with GIS.Description
Please note: this position is located in the Harvard Map Collection and work hours need to be fulfilled between the hours of 9a and 5p, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications
- Must have some knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, preferably ArcGIS
- Understanding of geospatial data formats
- Scripting or programming highly desirable, but not required
- Understanding of spreadsheet software is helpful.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Hourly Rate
$15 - $18 per hour, based on experience
