Harvard AI Community of Practice Talk on how Spatial AI is transforming the way we interact with, analyze, and act upon spatial data. This talk presents innovations and applications showcasing how AI is reshaping spatial analysis across disciplines. We will explore the use of advanced tools such as HeavyIQ, a conversational analytics platform designed to interact with massive spatial datasets using natural language. The talk will also highlight our work with Geographic Insights Lab (GIL) on integration of Generative AI in public policy using fine-tuned LLMs that enable seamless question-answering over rich spatial-temporal datasets. In another application, we demonstrate how WebAI for Spatial Data, including deep learning-based web scraping and satellite data, can be used to explore the spatial determinants of corporate sustainability engagement. Together, these case studies reflect a growing area of AI-enabled spatial research offering powerful new tools to address real world challenges.
