HEAVY.AI is a GPU-accelerated database offering rapid analytics and visualization on billions of records, including geospatial and time series data. It is ideal for tasks requiring real-time analysis of GIS big data using GPU databases.

(Fun fact: HEAVY.AI started at CGA when then graduate student [Todd Mostak and Ben Lewis built the first version of the GPU database](https://www.heavy.ai/blog/rejoining-forces-a-new-old-partnership-with-the-harvard-center-for-geographic-analysis), then called GEOPS and later called MapD, in 2012 while [starting the Geotweet Archive](https://cmes.fas.harvard.edu/news/cmes-am-graduate-explores-power-twitter-big-data).)

**Using Heavy on NERC**: Heavy.ai can be launched easily and effectively on NERC using our server snapshot.
