We will focus in particular on the most vulnerable road users - motorcyclists. Motorcycle traffic accidents show specific spatial patterns and concentrations. The talk will present existing methods for the analysis of motorcycle traffic accidents.

The core of the talk will present a brand-new methodology for assessing the risk of the road network for motorcycles using advanced statistical methods. Based on these, we will identify covariates that have a significant impact on the occurrence of traffic accidents. By filtering out these covariates, we will find the real hotspots of motorcycle accidents.

	Speaker bio:

Stanislav is an Associate Professor of Human Geography and Head of the Department of Geography at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. He received his PhD from Masaryk University, Czech Republic. His research focuses on transportation geography and spatial mobility studies. Recently, he has been working on a research project on spatial analysis of motorcycle accidents in GIS and a project on the use of Big Data in transportation research. He serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals. He regularly presents his research results in top-class international journals.
