Mark is an assistant professor of public policy at Mills College in Oakland, California. He is a graduate of Williams College (B.A. in History, Asian Studie, and Environmental Studies), Harvard University (A.M. in Regional Studies -- East Asia), and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management). His research addresses the spatial dimensions of social and environmental policy problems in the United States and China. He is a member of the management committee of the China Historical GIS project and, in collaboration with Harvard CGA, is documenting and publishing the spatial data collection of the late Professor G. William Skinner.
