Professor Gortler’s research has focused on designing fundamental representations for computer graphics, as well as pursuing a mathematically rigorous understanding of computer graphics algorithms and techniques. This theoretical focus has been at the heart of all his research, from his early work in efficient lighting simulation, to his current work on image-based rendering and discrete geometry processing.
