Paolo Corti was a Geospatial Engineering Fellow with the CGA from 2015 to 2018, and a part time Geospatial Engineering Consultant for the CGA from Nov. 2018 to Nov. 2019. He is an environmental engineer with past experiences as a geospatial analyst and developer for the EU Joint Research Center, the UN World Food Program, the Italian Government and Esri. He has used geospatial technologies in many application fields, such as emergency management, forestry, mining, urban and regional planning, land administration, environmental management and geomarketing. Paolo is a strong advocate of geospatial open source software. He contributes to a number of open source projects as a software developer. He is a member of the OSGeo GeoNode (http://geonode.org/) and pycsw (http://pycsw.org/) Project Steering Committees, and a charter member of OSGeo. He contributed to several scientific publications related to the use of geospatial technologies and data analysis for forest fires management and Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) implementation, and is co-author for the first and second editions of the "PostGIS Cookbook" book. His work at CGA is mainly related to WorldMap (https://github.com/cga-harvard/geonode) and Hypermap Registry projects (https://github.com/cga-harvard/Hypermap-Registry), for which he is the core developer, and focused in the fields of SDIs metadata management, remote map services discovery and big data integration in geospatial systems.
