Professor Blier is the co-creator of Africamap,  a platform for visualizing, analyzing, and sharing maps and geographic datasets related to African studies.  This project expanded into Worldmap, which now hosts research for over 20,000 people, mostly scholars.  Prof. Blier is also the author of the award winning book Art and Risk in Ancient Yoruba: Ife History, Power and Identity c.1300 (Cambridge University Press), which applies geographic analytics and visualizations to the study of ancient African art.
