Dr. Ur conducts research in the fields of early urbanism, landscape archaeology, and remote sensing, particularly the use of declassified U.S. intelligence imagery.  As director of the Erbil Plain Archaeological Survey – a field survey in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq – Dr. Ur makes extensive use of drone mapping technology to create the highest resolution imagery and maps  ever recorded in this region.  Dr. Ur uses geographic information science, spatial analysis, and GIS technology widely for this and other research projects. Jason Ur chairs the CGA Faculty Steering Committee.
