Mehrnoush Soroush is a landscape archaeologist specializing in ancient water management systems in the Middle East. She holds a Ph.D. in the Study of the Ancient World, from New York University an MA in Architecture from the University of Tehran, Iran.  Her research primarily revolves around remote sensing of historic aerial and satellite imagery and use of Geographic Information System to map and study archaeological remains of hydraulic and urban infrastructures that are often lost or threatened by development, war etc. As a CGA fellow, she will work with Professor Jason Ur on the systematic use of multitemporal historic and modern satellite imagery for the purpose of the reconstruction of archaeological landscape of Erbil Plain, in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
