Merrick Lex Berman developed and managed Chinese and Japanese geographic information projects such as CHGIS, the Skinner Archive, ChinaMap, and JapanMap. In addition to developing the Temporal Gazetteer API, web services and digital collection tools, Lex worked on GIS Data archives, geographic ontologies, and a curriculum for Open Source QGIS training.
