Navya Tripathi is currently a high school senior at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida. There, she is a member of the prestigious Buchholz Math Team, which has won 13 of the 14 recent national convention titles. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health and place, specifically using geographic info-science and tools for public health to understand the spatiotemporal diffusion patterns of infectious diseases. Her recent research has focused on the analysis of the socio-economic determinants of health in society, the drug overdose epidemic, and the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, which she has presented at international conferences. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in medicine, and hopes to use her research experience and knowledge to lead future global public health projects to protect and improve the quality of life in societies at all levels.
