Nurlan Kenzheakhmet, Ph.D., is a Professor of History at the Faculty of History, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard University. His research focuses on historical geography, archaeology, and the history of Central Asia. At the CGA, he works on the Toponymic GIS of Central Eurasia from the Sixth to the Twentieth Centuries. His most recent books are about Eurasian Historical Geography and Kazakh Khanate historical geography, published with the OSTASIEN Verlag in Germany. He was a visiting scholar at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies from 2021-2022.
