Rinki Deo was a post doctoral Research Fellow at the CGA from Oct. 2019 to Oct. 2020. She joined the staff as a part time GIS Specialist in November of 2020. Her basic educational background is in physics and specializes in remote sensing and GIS. She received her Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB). Prior to CGA, she was working as an Assistant Professor at TERI –SAS, India and was involved in teaching and research in geoinformatics. Her research interests include optical and radar remote sensing and applications, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Interferometry for DEM generation, SAR polarimetry. She has contributed in the development of software named TARANG which is being used by many users in India to process Radarsat-2, ALOS-2, TerraSAR-X and Indian RISAT-1 SAR data for various applications. Her software skill includes SAR processing software (DORIS, NEST, GAMMA, PolSAR-pro, ASF-MapReady, and SARSCAPE), GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, ILWIS) and image processing software (ENVI, ERDAS). She is well versed with programming languages C, IDL, Matlab, and Python.
