GIS Student Research Assistant Position
A Harvard Kennedy School Public Policy PhD student is looking to hire a student research assistant for an economic development research project related to construction and migration, with a focus on Africa and the Middle East. Responsibilities would include conducting geospatial analysis and creating data visualization and maps of construction changes at varying subnational levels using existing shapefiles. Familiarity with GIS software (e.g. QGIS) is necessary. Due to the large size of the datasets, analysis may need to be conducted at the IQSS computer lab or using other Harvard computing resources. This would be a part-time paid position open for current Harvard students, and student RAs would be expected to work 5-10 hours per week for up to 10 weeks over the summer. Please reach out to Joseph Melkonian (jmelkonian@g.harvard.edu) for any inquiries; prospective candidates should send a CV and unofficial transcript by email, summarizing prior coding and/or GIS experience.
